Hello again! As you'll see below, the Planes of Power beta test is in progress. The feedback has been positive and we're excited about that. I just wanted to take a moment and say thanks to those that have been helping us out with the testing. Your input has been great.

Hopefully you've had the chance to read the latest update about the development of Planes of Power. If not, check it out here. The update describes the basics of advancement in Planes of Power.

I'm writing this as we begin the Planes of Power beta 2, so perhaps that's why it's all I can talk about.

Latest Planes of Power Info


Beta testing of the highly anticipated fourth expansion pack, EverQuest®: The Planes of Power™, began phase 1 of testing on September 3. This first phase included about 50 testers and focused on simple system mechanics, art assets, and the patching process. Fourteen of the new zones were available for testers to explore.

 

  • Phase 2 began on September 18
  • 200 additional testers added for phase 2
  • Focus testing on advancement, combat, and spells

You can pre-order the expansion now at the Station.com Store. While supplies last, those who pre-order early will also receive a special Firiona Vie figurine. Plus, all pre-order customers have a bonus opportunity to purchase the very first EverQuest Soundtrack!

The EverQuest Soundtrack includes twenty original orchestrations, including:

  • "March of the Diaku"
  • "Dreams of Shadows and Fear "
  • "Ascension"

Plus many more new sound pieces composed specifically for EverQuest: The Planes of Power expansion.

EQ Invasion Tour Reaches Boston!

The EQ Invasion tour finished its cross-continental trip from San Diego to Boston with many stops in between and many tales to tell. Our Invasion team met hundreds of players from many different servers including Abakar of the Outcast Adventurers guild on Rodcet Nife. This is what he had to say about EverQuest.

"The main reason I play EverQuest is due to all of the people I have met from around the world. I have met people from Italy, Japan, Israel, and other countries. It is not so much the immersion of the game but the people that keep me coming back to play more. It is much more of an experience due to the fact that I play with actual people and not just playing a game alone."

Sony Online Bot

Our game development teams are not the only ones building things around here. SOE's very own BattleBot, affectionately known as "S.O.B.," is tearing into its opposition with a ferocity unmatched by anything that even remotely resembles a mechanized dust pan.

Season 5.0 of Battlebots is here and on Comedy Central. You can watch our bot ravage those who dare to face it. One opponent has already succumbed as we continue to saw our way to the finals.
